Hello, I’m Sahel Sally Zaboli, an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the New York Institute of Technology, School of Management. My journey to this role has been both diverse and enriching.
I began my academic career with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Mazandaran, Iran. After graduation, I worked for a tourism company, where I discovered my passion for understanding people and consumer behavior. This newfound interest led me to pursue an MBA with a focus on marketing.
With my MBA in hand and a desire to delve deeper into research, I decided to further my education in the United States. I obtained my PhD in Marketing from the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University, where my dissertation focused on “Brand Activism; the Role of Moral Grandstanding.” My research interests span social issues, moral grandstanding, political ideology, consumer well-being, social media and technology, and sustainable consumption.
Throughout my academic journey, I have had the opportunity to teach and mentor students, which I found immensely fulfilling. My teaching experience includes courses on Consumer and Market Behavior, Marketing Research, and Global Competitive Environment. I also served as a Behavioral Lab Manager at the Spears School of Business, honing my skills in experimental design and data analysis.
Now, as an Assistant Professor at NYIT, I am living my dream. I continue to explore my research interests while engaging with a diverse student body in one of the most dynamic cities in the world. I am excited to contribute to the field of marketing and inspire the next generation of marketers.
